Avatamsaka Sutra

Das Avatamsaka-Sutra (skt. Avataṃsaka-sūtra; W.-G. Hua-yen ching Blumengirlanden-Sutra; jap. Kegon-kyō; tib.: Mdo phal po che), auch als Hua-Yen - Sutra oder Kegon - Sutra bekannt, ist eines der umfangreichsten buddhistischen Mahayana-Sutras und gilt auch als ein Text des Ekayana.

Es ist grundlegend für den koreanischen Zen.

Es sind allerdings nur zwei Teile des Avatamsaka-Sutra im Original in Sanskrit erhalten.

• Daśabhūmika -Sutra - 10 Stufen Sutra, welches die 10 Stufen des Bodhisattva-Pfades, die Buddha-Natur und die Erweckung der rechten Aspiration beschreibt. Vasubandhu schrieb einen Kommentar zum Daśabhūmika - Sūtra, das Dasabhūmikabhāsya, der später ins Chinesische überestzt wurde.
• Gandavyuha Sutra - das Buch vom Eintreten in den Kosmos der Wahrheit

Das Avatamsaka-Sutra integriert die Lehren von sunyata und vijnaptimatra(nur Geist).
