Das Mudgala - Purana ist ein ausschließlich Ganesha gewidmetes Purana. Der Sanskrittext ist mit Advaita durchsetzt.

Es beinhaltet viele Geschichten und Rituale mit Bezug auf Ganesha und ist neben dem Ganesha Purana ein Haupttext der Ganapatyas oder Verehrer von Ganesha, der als Repräsentant der höchsten wirklichkeit angesehen wird.
