Rāṣṭrapālaparipṛcchā

Das Rāṣṭrapālaparipṛcchā Sutra (' Fragen des Rastrapala ') des Mahayana gehört zu den frühen Sutras neben Texten wie Ratnarāśī, Kāśyapaparivarta und Ugraparipṛcchā. Heute existieren verschiedene Versionen des Textes , darunter eine frühe chinesische Übersetzung von Dharmarakṣa aus dem 3. Jh. sowie eine umfangreichere Sanskrit - Version des ca. 6. Jahrhunderts.

Der Inhalt des Rāṣṭrapāla kommt dem Buddhavaṃsa sehr nahe, allerdings ist es in Prosa geschrieben und das Buddhavamsa in Versform.
