(in Vorbereitung) Das Shurangama Sutra (Sutra des Heldenhaften )ist ein Mahayana-Sutra ungeklärten Ursprungs, dessen chinesiche Übersetzung erhalten ist. Der Text enthält ca 2700 Abschnitte in 8 Kapiteln und wurde zu einem Haupttext der Zen-Schule. Das Sutra erklärt die verschiedenen Methoden der Leerheitsmeditation, durch die jeder Erleuchtung verwirklichen und ein Bodhisattva werden kann. Zusätzlich enthalten sind mehrere tiefsinnige moralische Erörterungen.
In Kapitel 6 wird das Shurangama-Mantra erwähnt[1]. Jenes beinhaltet 5 Unterteilungen :

  1. im Osten Vajra Unterteilung - Buddha Akshobhya
  2. im Süden die juwelenerschaffende Unterteilung - Buddha Ratnasambhava
  3. in der Mitte die Buddha Unterteilung - Buddha Vairochana
  4. im Westen die Lotus Unterteilung - Buddha Amitabha
  5. im Norden die Karma-Untertelung - Buddha Amoghasiddhi

Diese 5 Unterteilungen kontrollieren die riesigen Dämonenarmeen der 5 Richtungen. Während der Rezitation des Surangama - Mantras werden die Soldaten der 5 Dämonenarmmeen ihre Köpfe in Unterwerfung senken und es nicht wagen, sich der gewaltigen Kraft des Surangama - Mantras zu widersetzen...
