This carved basalt lintel of Ganesha and the eight Dikpalas dates back to 1000s to 1100s AC and once stood at the entrance of a Hindu temple. Here, Ganesha, the eight-headed god is accompanied by the Dikpalas, guardians of the eight directions or compass points. From Western India. It is currently housed in the British Museum in London.
