Das Narada - Purana (auch Naradiya Purana) gehört zu den 18 Mahapuranas und wird vom Padma Purana als Sattva-Purana eingestuft. Es soll auf dem Brhan-naradiya Purana beruhen[1]. Das Purana ist als Dialog zwischen Narada und Sanatkumara ausgeführt. Darin erklärt Narada dem Brahma-Sohn Sanatkumara u.a. die größeren Pilgerstätten, d.h. ihre Orte und Bedeutung[2] sowie
- Geschichten über den Dharma
- Geschichten von Vratas (Gebote)
- Philosophische Geschichten
- Geschichten von Tirthas(heilige Orte)
- Religiöse Geschichten
- Eine Biographie des Weisen Suka
