Die Nag-Hammadi-Schriften sind eine Sammlung frühchristlicher in einem Tonkrug für 1600 Jahre versteckter zumeist gnostischer Texte, die 1945 in der Nähe des ägyptischen Ortes Nag Hammadi von Bauern gefunden wurde. Die meisten dieser Schriften waren höchstens fragmentarisch bekannt. Zu ihnen gehört insbesondere das Thomasevangelium, eine wohl schon im 2. Jahrhundert bekannte Sammlung von Jesuszitaten.

Kategorien

Die umfangreichen Schriften[1][2] lassen sich in 6 Hauptkategorien aufteilen[3].

  6. Schriften mit Zitaten von Jesus und Beschreibung von mit ihm verbundenen Ereignissen wie Der Dialog mit dem Retter; das Buch des Athleten Thomas; Das Apocryphon des James; Das Evangelium des Philipus; Das Evangelium des Thomas.
