Amoghapasha Lokeshvara

Avalokiteshvara Amoghapasha ("der das unerschütterliche Seil hat; Unfehlbares Lasso ; tib. don yod zhags pa) oder Amoghapāśa-Avalokiteśvara wird in der Ikonografie bis zu zwölfarmig dargestellt. In China ist er als Bukongjuansuo Guanyin und in Japan als Fukukensaku Kannon bekannt. Er gehört zu einer Gruppe von sechs Erscheinungsformen des Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, die die Wesen aus den 6 Daseins- bzw. Wiedergeburtsreichen herausführen.

Der Name findet sich auch in mehreren Titeln von indischen Sanskrittexten, in denen sowohl Avalokiteshvara als auch Amoghapasha mit verschiedenenen Erscheinungsformen und Funktionen beschrieben werden. Wegen der vielen verschiedenen Formen wurden diese unabhängig von der Gottheit im Zentrum des Mandala Amoghapasha genannt, sowohl im Mandala als auch in der Meditation und im Ritual. Durch die muslimische Invasion erlosch der Kult in Indien im 12ten Jahrhundert.
